Meredith Friend

“Dream… About the Things… Things you know you wanna be, baby, dreaming’… Don’t let anybody say… walk this way…”

Sweetness. That’s what always comes to mind when you meet Meredith. From her smile to the glowing blonde hair and blue eyes, she’s the adorable girl next door. A little too quiet, but hoping that changes by the end of the year 😉

Smart and talented, this girl plans on reaching for the stars, and we’re going to watch her do it! A senior at Heritage this year, and off to the “big” city the next. We started the day out at her home in Shields, visiting a local park, a stranger’s side yard (*these things happen ;), and her grandparents backyard!

And pardon the little flag pic, Meredith’s session was taken right before the 4th or July, I needed to add in a little patriotic spirit and the blue dress was just perfect! Enjoy!

Meredith Friend :: Class of 2017
Heritage High School

What school activities do you participate in?

I believe the best way to make the most of your high school years is to be involved. Because of this belief I am involved in Class Council, National Honor Society, Multi-Cultural Club and I coach as well as play soccer. Class Council allows me to help make decisions for my lovely class of 2017, and I have been apart of it since I was a freshman. We fundraise, participate in mock-singing shows and class competitions. National Honor Society keeps me involved in my community through volunteering, and it recognizes my good grades. Multi-Cultural Club keeps me in tune to other cultures, and I participate in this club because it keeps me open minded. Not everyone is the same white, blonde, born and raised in Saginaw like me. Lastly i do soccer. Soccer has been my passion since the age of 5, so I get involved in anything soccer related as much as possible. I coach a U-8 girls team because I love watching girls who may have never touched a soccer ball develop into little soccer stars. Also, the part when they ask me if I am married or if I have any kids cracks me up too! Along with coaching I will be playing one final travel season this fall.

What are you most looking forward to senior year?

All the senior traditions of Heritage! These traditions start on the first day of school with the ever so famous “Go Home Freshmen!” chant. Seems mean but everyone goes through it. I remember being a freshman watching 400 seniors yell that across the gym. It will finally be nice to be on the giving end of things instead of the recieving end. Along with that comes the tradition that seniors sit front row at football games. Of course whats senior year without the tradition of a senior prank? All of these things I plan to partake in (while still being a law abiding citizen).

What are your current plans after graduation?

Current plans include to attend Michigan State University in the fall and study something in business. Although I am almost positive I will change my major just like the majority of college kids do. Along with attending MSU I plan to join a sorority.

Why did you choose blacksheepchic?

I chose to do my senior pictures with Leslie because she has a certain sense of creativity. She is not the typical studio based photographer. In fact, she’s quite opposite! She loves destination pictures which makes her that much more appealing to a girl like me who knew she wanted outdoor senior pictures. Choosing blacksheepchic to take my pictures was easy especially because I knew a few girls who had gone through Leslie too!

What do you think makes blacksheepchic different?

There’s not one specific “look”. When you get pictures done through blacksheepchic your pictures won’t have the same look. You will have a variety of poses, styles, and angles of pictures to choose from. Nothing is ever the same when you have a photographer with a detailed eye like blacksheepchic.

What was your favorite thing about your session?

It wasn’t serious. I felt I could always be myself. Working with blacksheepchic is like working with a friend, she’s a people person. Never a dull moment during my session, it was always lighthearted and fun!

Which was your favorite look?

My favorite look was the one where I was in the field. I liked laying down in the grass and looking up at the camera. It was a unique angle, and my blue eyes popped out and matched my blue shirt. This created a soft yet cute look.
