Chelsea + Andrew

Despite the freezing temps, these two were troopers for their engagement session in Frankenmuth. We may have missed out on the snow, but that didn’t stop us from getting what I would deem the perfect Christmas shots (I mean, that dress! LOVE! <3 ) I’m so excited to have a few out of town weddings this coming year, Chelsea and Andrew will be one of them! Can’t wait to celebrate with these two beautiful people!

How did you meet?

Chelsea : We met online in… oh gosh it was so long ago… it had to of been around August of 2009. I was a sophmore and Andrew was a senior in highschool. We went to different schools, but he randomly stumbled accross my profile and saw that I had listed that I was from the same town as his ex girlfriend. He then went on to ask me if I knew her. I didn’t know her because we were from different school districts. Even though I thought it was a strange question I decided to reply because we has a mutual friend. Somehow we mangaged to really hit it off after that awkward start. We started talking as friends and our relationship grew into something more from there. 🙂

How did you meet?

Andrew : Back when Myspace was a thing circa 2009, I came across Chelsea while on a friend’s profile. Her unique look (bleach blonde scene girl look) instantly drew me in. I clicked on her page and saw that she lived in the same town as an ex girlfriend of mine. Being the smooth guy that I am, (haha) I used that as an ice breaker to add her. It was love at first click!

Tell me about your first date/impression :

Chelsea : Our first date I want to say was late September or early October of 2009. I remember Andrew picked me, my friend, and her boyfriend up to see the movie Surrogates. He had this white mini van that I affectionately named “the creeper van”. We got in the car and he was all smiles which shocked me because I didn’t realize he has braces. But I still thought he was very cute and attractive. I realized on the ride to the movie how great his sense of humor was. He was so goofy. He had us all laughing. I even felt comfortable enough to tell him he had a creeper van and he responded that he had a shovel in the back. (Spoiler: He really did have a shovel in the back from doing some roofing work lol.) We got to the movie and it went really well. Well at least until he tried to kiss me. I warned him I don’t kiss on first dates and I laughingly said I’d slap him if he tried. He thought I was joking and tried to give me a peck anyway… in short he got light slap. I guess to an outsider it would seem that the date was going sour. But it was actually really funny. We both thought it was hilarious. We just clicked. We had the same humor and ambitions in school and the same values. I think we both realized we really liked each other and continued to go on dates from there… but slowed down so we were moving more at my speed. 🙂

Tell me about your first date/impression :

Andrew : After talking to her online for a couple months, we set up a movie date with me, her friend and her friend’s boyfriend. We decided to go see the movie Surrogates, which I thought was decent… Chelsea hated it. The plan was for me to pick them up from Chelsea’s house and then head to the movies. Note that back then I was driving a 2000 Dodge Caravan that a family friend handed down to me. I was feeling super confident even though I was a rolling in a mom car. When she finally came out I couldn’t help myself but to stare at her and smile and she couldnt stop staring at me. She had her hair down and wavy and the cutest smile. As corny as it sounds, I felt an instant connection with her: she looked beautiful. It was a totally awkward interaction though. She made fun of my minivan, called me a creeper, and thought that I was going to murder her and her friends because I had a shovel in the back of my van from a summer roofing job I was on. The movie was a lot of fun, I threw out some good jokes (and some bad ones), but overall, I thought our first date went great!
