Talk about a beautiful day for a June wedding when Michigan refuses to give us some proper weather! We completely lucked out! The sun was front and center for Krissi and Pete’s outdoor ceremony at the Bay City Bowmans Club and the whole thing couldn’t have been more beautiful! I’m so glad that I was able to celebrate with them and capture their big day! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Zemelis!

Pete first saw me at work, then he saw me again online. He kept asking a mutual friend to get him a date. She would text me randomly to tell me “he’s asking about you again…” I finally agreed to a date. – Krissi

How long did you know each other before tying the knot?

Two and a half years. – Krissi

On my lunch hour I was delivering a sponsorship check to her place of employment. While searching the building for the contact I knew, I stumbled into the break room and found a group of gals gathered together laughing and enjoying their meal. Instantly, I was attacked by the flock of birds… They started giving me a hard time for showing up in a suit & tie asking for their colleague. My eyes quickly locked onto the thin pretty blonde that was simply observing the show as we all joked back and forth. The person I was supposed to deliver the check to wasn’t there, so I left it with someone else. After that I hounded the contact I knew with a 100 questions about who she was, what her story was and kept asking my contact to “hook me up” (set up a date). After what must have been a couple months I finally got my chance. I was so nervous…. – Pete

What advice do you have for other first time grooms?

Do it. Go thru all the tough planning process (decisions, time, money, etc) – it was so worth it. – Pete

What would you change, if anything, about your wedding day?

Nothing. It was perfect even with the little flaws. – Krissi
That’s a tough question, but honestly I don’t think I would have changed anything… it was so much fun. – Pete

What advice do you have for other first time brides?

Don’t stress over the small stuff. Relax and have fun. Sneak away with your new spouse for some time for just the two of you. – Krissi

Marrying Pete was by far my favorite part of the day. Also, slipping away from everyone with Pete to take pictures in our canoe gave us opportunity for some time alone. It was nice to have some time to giggle, laugh, and take everything in from a distance with my husband. – Krissi

Our vows were very special and the speeches were great but I think dancing with everyone (especially the kids) was the best part. Such a great day! Relieving feeling to have all the planning finally over and just kick back enjoy the show and let whatever happens, happen. Drank a couple cocktails, visited with lots of family & friends. Still smiling when I talk about it… – Pete
