It was a beyond beautiful day for a wedding this week! Of course having your bride score the most beautiful getting ready room in Saginaw didn’t hurt any either. 😉 From a chilly fall day in Lansing to my home church it was wonderful to be a part of Kenzie and Travis’s journey to the alter, to many many happy years!

We actually went to the same grade school, high school, and church but didn’t start talking until I graduated high school and he was already off at college. We kind of knew of each other but never hung out until we started dating.

My favorite part of the day was the first look since it gave us a chance to soak in each other in before going through the good kind of craziness of the day. I wasn’t expecting both of us to get that emotional, but seeing each other all dressed up to marry each other made it all real and exciting.

We dated for just over 6 years before getting married.

Just seeing everything play out and realizing you are committing to the love of your life. You imagine it over and over in your head leading up to the day but then when you experience it, it’s almost surreal. There are so many emotions that take a hold of you and all of them are positive.

I would not change a thing since it was beautiful to be surrounded by our loved ones to celebrate the best day of our lives. Everything came together better than I could have imagined. Air conditioning could have been nice at the church, but we both grew up in a church and school without it, so we were expecting it.

When it comes to the wedding day, soak up as much of it as you can and take little pauses to just be in the moment. The day and even the wedding planning is a whirlwind that flies by so even if there is chaos and busyness just enjoy it and be present since it’ll be time you cherish for the rest of your lives.

Just relax and enjoy the day. There are going to be things that come up that don’t go the way you planned that you have no control over. Just know that your family, friends, and vendors are going to do whatever they can to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. The day is all about you and your bride/groom, so just focus on taking that in and how awesome it is to be around your closest family and friends all day to celebrate that.
