This winter has not been delivering the snow we pictured for our white weddings, but it hasn’t put a damper on some beautiful days! Last Friday I got to celebrate with Lauren and Seth as they said “I do” here in Bay City. We had a fantastic day about town from City Hall, to the Rail Trail, to a lovely Catholic Church, and back to the Doubletree for dinner and dancing. I’m so glad that these two will be living close by and we might be able to hang out again in the future! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Meyer!

How did you meet?

In high school, he was a Junior and I was a Sophomore. – Lauren

How did you meet?

Lauren may have a slightly different story, but I think we first met in a Auto-Cad class back in high school. She sat one computer down from me, and we would tease each other here and there. Then we would only see each other when she would come over for my sister’s Spanish videos, and once in a while babysitting the neighbors. She kept a close eye on me, haha! – Seth

How long did you know each other before tying the knot?

7 years and 11 months – Seth

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Our first look and the moments we had alone in the car to a from church and pictures. We had waited so long for this day, and knowing we would both be emotional, we wanted some time for just the two of us to reminisce and embrace the feelings throughout the day. Those are memories I will cherish forever. – Lauren

What advice do you have for other first time brides?

Do what feels right for you and your future spouse, unconventional or not. We took the time to think through every decision (head table layout, favors, dessert, timeline, etc.) and the entire day worked out perfectly – it was a day that was perfectly and completely true to Seth and Lauren. – Lauren

What advice do you have for other first time grooms?

My advice for first time brides/grooms is to not get caught up in the details and making sure everything goes perfect. Be flexible, and know that everything will work out in the end. – Seth

What would you change, if anything, about your wedding day?

One thing I would change is finding the time/opportunity to sit back, for just a second or two, and take the whole day in. The day flew by so I wish I would’ve gotten a chance to absorb it all and really appreciate those around us. – Seth

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

My favorite part of our wedding day was our first dance. I think this is where it hit me that after almost 8 long years, our wonderful day had finally come. It felt so surreal. – Seth

What would you change, if anything, about your wedding day?

How much time I spent dancing, it was not enough! – Lauren
