What a cute couple from my old stomping grounds! Though our paths have never crossed, all three of us know what it’s like to grown up at Peace Lutheran Church and Valley Lutheran High school! I can’t wait for July to take us back there for their beautiful wedding day. In the mean time we used someplace a little closer to their current living situation and hit up Grand Ledge and Lansing for their engagement session… it was chilly but they carried on without complaint!

We attended the same church and high school but I was 2 classes ahead of her so we always knew each other growing up but never really talked to each other that much until I was in college and she was graduating high school. – Travis

We’ll be living in Flint since I have to go there for 2 years to finish up med school. After that wherever my education/residency takes us. – Kenzie

How did you meet?

We actually went to the same grade school, high school, and church so we have known of each other for a long time. However, we didn’t interact much because we were 2 grades apart and had different circles of friends. One day he just messaged me on Facebook to tease me about how late I was up and we kept talking and talking and got to really know each other. I wasn’t sure if our talking was going anywhere since he was away at school, but I really hoped so. – Kenzie

We had talked for a while and then decided to meet for frozen yogurt. It ended up being a somewhat cold, rainy night but it went well enough that we continued to sit outside and talk for a while despite the weather. I thought it went very well and knew immediately that I wanted to continue to spend time together. I didn’t know right then that it was the beginning of what would be such an amazing relationship but that decision to meet for frozen yogurt was probably the best one of my life (besides for buying the ring and asking her to marry me!) – Travis

Our first date was in the summer since he was finally home from college. He asked me to go out to get frozen yogurt and I remember I was a little nervous we wouldn’t have much to talk about since this was the first time meeting up in person. He ended up being super charming and funny that we stayed long after we finished our froyo. I definitely saw him in a different light as someone I’m attracted to than the guy from my church/high school that just goofs off with his friends. – Kenzie
