Meet Kelly, she is my second Great Lakes Bay Early College student! We had a fabulous day hanging out in Bay City, finding perfect settings, old, new, and out of the box. (The first person to ever express a love for The Planetarium besides me! I think it’s hella cool, and loved being able to use the red/orange backdrop for a few shots!) Of course I’m always down for some prom dress looks, and I am in love with hers, completely stunning! So lucky to have her choose me, it always means more when it’s someone who is studying my craft, and can’t wait to see where this fellow “band geek” goes 😉

What school Clubs/Activities are you involved in?

I spent my freshman and sophomore year (2014/16) at John Glenn high school and while I was there I participated in marching band, concert band, and theater (both on stage and as tech crew). After my sophomore year, I transferred to the Great Lakes Bay Early College (GLBEC) to complete my junior, senior, and a plus one year. So far During my time in GLBEC, I am a full time student split between SVSU and Delta College. Throughout my two completed years and beginning of my third year with GLBEC, I have participated in SVSU’s marching and concert band, Delta College’s film production club, along with being an active member of GLBEC’s FIRST robotics team. I also work for Delta’s student run news paper as a multimedia journalist along with a part time job at Little Caesars Pizza.

Why did you choose blacksheepchic?

I chose BlackSheepChic because as a film student, I have taken many classes based around the fundamentals of making the composition and over all look of a film or image to be as eye pleasing as possible. And I believe that Leslie does just that. Her attention to detail and technical standpoint makes her pictures far more superior that any other local photographers. It was a must for me get my senior pictures done by BlackSheepChic based on these evident qualities easily seen from her online portfolio.

What are you most looking forward to your Senior Year?

Being that I am apart of an early college, I am looking forward the accepting my associates degree in Digital Film Production this up coming April. At this time I will also be completing my last year with GLBEC and receiving my high school diploma as well.

Which was your favorite look?

My favorite look was my stripped, ruffles shirt paired with dark wash jeans and nude heals. The location that was matched with this outfit was Old City Hall and I think the two go beautifully together. I am very thrilled to see these specific pictures.

What do you think makes blacksheepchic different than other photographers?

The defining quality that really sets BlackSheepChic apart from other photographers is her style closet and outfit consolations. If it wasn’t for my consultation with Leslie a few days before my shoot, all 6 of my outfits would have looked exactly the same. She managed to push me out of my comfort zone by encouraging me to try new looks but still managed to make me feel as if my true self was being represented by my looks. In all of the outfits I wore the day of my shoot, I felt confident and put together.

What are your current plans after graduation?

My plan after graduation are to transfer to a bigger university and pursue a masters degree. I am currently leaning towards MSU for their business programs but I have no for sure plans yet.

What was your favorite thing about your session?

To me, the best part of my session was seeing how Leslie turned ordinary places in my home town, Bay City, in to extraordinary places to shoot.
