Talk about a gorgeous day! After all of our problems scheduling an engagement session I thought we were bound for rain, honestly! Man was I wrong, hot, sunny, blue skies, and the most beautiful (2 dozen) people! As everyone knows by now, new places are my favorite locations, and this perfect bride provided me with three! From her parent’s home with lush backyard, to the First United Methodist Church in downtown Midland, with all of it’s light and geometry, to the Midland Country Club! (Talk about a course! Anyone need a partner? I promise I’m not horrible 😉 The reception space and adjoining patio could not be more perfect! And I do have to give a shout out to the best men and their speeches… definitely ones for the books! Brava!

How did you meet?

Chelsea : The first time we saw each other Chris was wearing children’s scuba flippers duct taped to his feet for a fraternity “event” and I was hobbling around on ONE crutch while recovering from knee surgery. Needless to say, it was not love at first sight, but it was nearly impossible not to notice each other. Thus began the heart warming love story of FLIPPERS and CRUTCH.

How long did you know each other before tying the knot?

Chelsea : A long, long time. Over 9 years of premarital bliss!

What would you change, if anything, about your wedding day?

Chelsea : Getting more time to visit with family and friends.

Chris : Seeing chelsea walk down the isle.

Chelsea : EVERYTHING. My most favorite part was saying our vows and Chris helping me so that I could make it through without blubbering like a baby.

What advice do you have for other first time grooms?

Chris : Enjoy the day.

Chelsea : Take time to soak it all in. During the reception Chris pulled me aside to the corner of the room and told me to look at the packed dance floor and guests visiting at tables / outside patio. It was so special to have that moment together to see all the people we care most about in the world in one space, enjoying themselves.
