Megan Stantz

Two years ago I started the BSC does DESTINATION session. Two years ago Megan’s mom and sister accompanied me and 3 other girls and their moms to Paris and Barcelona. This year I didn’t find anyone else willing to take the leap, but thankfully Megan’s mom, Missy, wasn’t about to pass up another trip! So off to Miami we went! As always there are good and bad about big groups vs small, but I think this was the perfect thing for her, and I LOVED every single second! We were able to easily travel around South Beach and places in Miami to get lots of variety. We took a day off from shooting to relax with an awesome lunch and a short bike ride. Palm trees will forever be my favorite (next to abandoned buildings of course) and I can’t wait for another tropical destination! Thank you for the awesome experience Megan! Cheers to senior year!

What school Clubs/Activities are you involved in?

I have been involved in the art program at my school since my freshman year.

Why did you choose blacksheepchic?

I chose blacksheepchic because my sister was a part of the team and went to Europe for her senior pictures and I saw how much fun she had and all of the great people she met along with the gorgeous pictures, so I wanted to be a part of it too.

What are you most looking forward to your Senior Year?

I am most looking forward to my senior prom and making my last high school memories with my friends 🙂

What do you think makes blacksheepchic different than other photographers?

I think blacksheepchic is different from other photographers because all of her sessions and pictures are so unique and different and capture the individual style of each person. Not one picture is ever the same. She also has a way of making anyone feel comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera.

What are your current plans after graduation?

I got accepted into SVSU and was awarded the deans scholarship there. I would like to go to school for criminal justice and then join the academy to work my way up to being a detective. After that I want to move to a bigger city, either Chicago or New York City, to work as a detective there for special victims cases.

Would you do it again/recommend it to other moms/up-coming seniors and why?

This is my second trip with Leslie and I wish I had another child so I could go again!! I highly recommend going on a destination senior picture trip. – Missy (Mom)

What was your favorite thing about your session?

Definitely being able to go to Miami! I love that my pictures will be so unique and I got to have so much fun with Leslie in Miami 🙂

I loved shooting at all of the different places in Miami Design District.

What was your favorite spot/view/shooting location?

I love Wynwood Walls! The talent put into these murals amazes me! So colorful, everywhere you look there was art work. – Missy (Mom)

What was your favorite lunch/dinner/food experience?

Our last dinner was my favorite because there was a bunch of different small restaurants in one building so we could all get any kind of food we wanted but all at the same place. And of course the amazing cookies!

Which was your favorite look?

My favorite look was the pink sweater because it is so bright and a color I would never normally wear. It was so comfortable and I felt very cute in it.

What was your favorite lunch/dinner/food experience?

Oh Mexico! The food was amazing as well as the margaritas! So many people and everyone was enjoying themselves. Being able to sit out on the sidewalk to eat in November is great when it’s 20 degrees back home in Michigan. – Missy (Mom)

What was your favorite “look”? And/or “look”/location combo?

I loved all the looks but my favorite was the Romper and Jean jacket in Little Havana. The color combination was perfect! – Missy (Mom)

What was your favorite “look”? And/or “look”/location combo?

My favorite look and location combo was definitely the romper in little Havana because it just fit the location so well and was so pretty.

What was your favorite inside joke or memory?

My favorite memory would be when we got stuck in the rain after dinner and my mom and Leslie ran down the middle of the sidewalk between the restaurants in the pouring rain

What was your favorite inside joke or memory?

Running in the rain to get to the donut shop before it closed….and it was already closed!! We ended up finding an amazing cookie place, Phenomenom Cookies!! – Missy (Mom)

What did you learn from this experience?

I LOVE Miami! There are so many different places to see, cultures and “barely” dressed people. – Missy (Mom)

What did you learn from this experience?

I learned to be more confident about myself. Since I was wearing outfits that were much different than what I would wear on a normal day and in front of a lot of people, I felt nervous but I now feel that I am more comfortable wearing things that are nicer and out of my comfort zone.
