“You don’t need direction, you know which way to go… And I don’t want to hold you back, I just want to watch you grow…”

So things don’t always go as planned, but then they turn out better than you could have imagined! Snehal called me with the greatest of visions… to do her maternity session at the Frankenmuth Hot Air Balloon Festival! Of course this leaves for a lot of unseen obstacles… for starters it’s only a 2 day event! Then there’s the death issues, anything less than completely perfect, and they won’t take off! And the very biggest hurdle… the insane amount of people that flooded the tiny city to see what never actually happened that night!

After driving in circles to try and find a spot, ANY spot, without the onslaught of humans and cars taking up space for miles, I finally found a place to park at the end of the line and started the walk back towards town. The weather looked perfect to me, and found this cute little spot, sans people, down by the river. The sun shine, the backdrop, everything was perfect. I love the feel of these images, like we traveled a thousand miles to the shores of cape cod, but without leaving the state!

I can’t wait to see the beauty that these two are bringing into the world! Much love and luck taking on the world of parenting together! Congratulations!

This is a very special and fleeting time, the degree of which you plan to document it, is up to you. But document it. I may not be the one to tell you how magical being pregnant is, in fact the whole idea scares the crap out of me…. but meeting a baby within a few weeks of taking these images, is an absolutely mystifying thing to me. So for you, and for that little one inside, call me.
