Michigan Winter Anniversary Couple Style Session

So when Trisha and Scott decided it was time for some updated portraits (lets face it, their wedding was probably the last time they were in front of a professional camera), their best friend (and coincidentally, MY best friend) shouted from the rooftops….”Leslie!”
But looking over my website they noticed that the didn’t really fit into “any of the buckets”. Well that’s about to change! I’m all about growing and learning and moving towards things I’m passionate about…. and this is it!
So the question is, where DO they fit?! Photographers market for engagements, weddings, maternity, and family… why in our heads do we market these so called family sessions as “you’ve procreated….document it.” I have many more couples cross my path in friendship and wedding photography that are ecstatic to be a family of two. The travel, the options, the freedom, but with all of that time, they forget to stop and preserve their own growth process.
So whether it’s the years before babies, the years after babies, or any single year you’ve lived happily (alone! or) with the love of your life, it’s reason to commemorate. Feel beautiful. See yourself through everyone else eyes. Don’t wait.
